Biography

Dr. Silvia Liu is currently completing her postdoc hours in various private practices in California. She provides therapy and assessment to children and families in Pasadena and to the elderly population in Santa Monica. Her doctoral dissertation discussed considerations for adapting parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) to Chinese-Americans. Dr. Liu is a certified PCIT therapist and within-agency trainer. She has clinical experience in a range of modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (e.g., DBT, ACT), PCIT, and brainspotting. She completed her predoctoral residency at Asian Pacific Family Center (APFC), a subsidiary of Pacifics Clinics in Los Angeles. Dr. Liu’s present work focuses on empowerment, social justice, neurodiversity, cultural humility, and recovery.
