Biography

Dr. deMayo was the 2014 president of the California Psychological Association. He is a past president of the Los Angeles Society of Clinical Psychologists and past chair of the Division of Education and Training of the California Psychological Association. He also served four terms as chair of the Continuing Education Committee of the California Psychological Association. He was honored in 2012 with the Distinguished Service Award, Division II, Education and Training, California Psychological Association, and in 2006 with the Distinguished Contribution to the Profession of Psychology Award by the California Psychological Association.

Dr. deMayo has extensive experience in teaching and supervision, and prior to coming to Pepperdine was awarded the Shepherd Ivory Franz Distinguished Teaching Award from the UCLA Psychology Department. Dr. deMayo has research interests in the areas of mood disorders, professional practice issues, and health psychology. He is a licensed psychologist and remains active in clinical practice. He is also program director for the Master of Arts in Psychology program.
