Biography
Mia Pierson is a licensed marriage and family therapist working as a clinical director with the unhoused minors and the transitional-age youth population in the Hollywood area. Graduating from Clark Atlanta University with her BA in Psychology and Pepperdine University with her MA in Clinical Psychology, Mia has a unique outlook on life as an African American woman in the mental health realm. Mia has worked in the nonprofit mental health field for 10 years in various roles from a clinician, a program manager, and a clinical supervisor. Pierson also currently works as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University’s online Graduate Psychology Program teaching Diagnosing and Treatment of Mental Health Disorders as well as Pre-Practicum. When she is not working, she enjoys volunteering with the unhoused population and engaging in other community service projects through her sorority.
