Biography

Dr. Melissa Huy is a licensed clinical psychologist who has over 20 years of experience providing neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapy for children and adults. She earned her PhD in clinical psychology specializing in neuropsychology at California School of Professional Psychology in 2000 and completed her two-year postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA in 2002. She currently serves as an assistant director of the GSEP online psychology program in addition to her faculty position. Prior to her appointment at Pepperdine, Dr. Huy has worked in a variety of academic, university, and research-based medical centers, community settings, and private practice. She has taught various courses such as intellectual assessment, advocacy, and professional development, clinical practicum, psychopharmacology, and abnormal psychology. Dr. Huy has years of experience assessing and treating known or suspected central nervous system disorders, anxiety, depression, and in particular, working with individuals struggling academically. Dr. Huy is passionate about promoting mental health awareness and support by providing various community outreach opportunities.
