Industry Expertise: clinical psychology
Following his graduate training, Jose Luna worked in the private practice setting. His clinical expertise focuses on a wide range of clients, including children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. He has trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, problem solving therapy, Gottman level I training with couples and attachment based therapy. He believes many of the issues that we deal with stem from our childhood experiences, attachment styles with our primary caregivers, and other traumas we may have endured. He provides a strength-based approach, allowing his clients to view their individual strengths and empower them to make the change they want to make. Currently, he is an adjunct professor for the Department of Psychology at East Los Angeles College. He is also an adjunct professor for psychology at Golden West College, and an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University’s graduate program in psychology and adjunct professor at Bakersfield College.
