Biography

Professor Barnes is a new adjunct professor at Pepperdine University. She received her bachelor’s in psychology at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. Professor Barnes went on to obtain her M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University, San Diego. She will be leaving Alliant in May 2021 with her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) with an emphasis in Forensics. Her dissertation research focused on Bias In Jury Deliberation: The Role of Empathy.

Professor Barnes has experience working in many settings with various populations and diagnosis including inpatient, corrections, domestic violence shelter, private practice, and multiple community clinics. Her passion is in forensic psychology and believes everyone should be given the opportunity for rehabilitation.
