MSABA Clinical Practicum Experience 

As part of the program, you will complete three terms of Practicum in ABA (PSY 620) where you will complete your required monthly hours under the supervision of a BCBA at an approved ABA agency near your community. 

The Process 

  1. When entering the program, it is necessary to inform your Student Success Advisor of your current employment status with an ABA agency.
  2. If you are not yet employed at an ABA agency, please visit the resources below to identify accredited opportunities in your area.

  3. In the first term of the program, you can expect to connect with the Field Placement Specialist, who will assist you with the match and approval process for your practicum experience. We recommend beginning the job search process as soon as possible. 
  1. Once you are employed with an ABA agency and have completed the prerequisite courses, you will complete your required practicum experience while enrolled in the three terms of PSY 620. 

Hours and Requirements 

  • Complete three (3) terms of Practicum in ABA (PSY 620) during the last three sessions of the curriculum.
    • PSY 620 is a 2 credit pass/fail course that requires live session attendance and asynchronous work.
  • Work at least 20 hours per month during the three (3) terms of Practicum in ABA (PSY 620).
  • Receive supervision for 5% of total monthly hours worked.
  • Meet with you BCBA four times per month, each contact should be at least 15 minutes.
  • Each trainee must be observed working with a client once per month by their BCBA.
  • Additional hours will need to be completed post-graduation prior to taking the BCBA exam.
