Biography
Dr. Nicole Flowers was awarded her PsyD in applied clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2017. Her dissertation explored the effect of personal therapy on clinical psychology students—a topic chosen to bridge the intersection between academia and clinical practice with the intention of a career in both disciplines. That intention manifested to a reality and today, Dr. Flowers teaches psychology and advanced academic writing on both coasts of the United States. Along with encouraging thoughtful analysis from her students, she is also known as a “stickler” for APA style and formatting. As such, she is a sought-after dissertation chair or reader. As a writing coach, she is adept at helping students of all levels bring their material into readable form. Currently, Dr. Flowers lives in Venice, California with her husband and the dog she has been waiting for her whole life. Her creative mediums have included painting, poetry, personal essay, photography, interior design, 15-mile mindful walks and growing sunflowers. Fun fact—her favorite podcast is Desert Island Discs from the BBC.
