Biography

Tiona Sykes graduated from Pepperdine University with a master’s degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy in 2020. She is currently a student a PsyD in Martial and Family Therapy student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Tiona works full time as an associate therapist with children, adolescents, and families in the Southern California. She has six years of experience working in the mental health field from outpatient treatment centers to community organizations and now private practice. She volunteers at The Collective Identity as a youth advisory member to help uplift the voices of young people of color. Tiona loves Pepperdine’s mission, values, and purpose towards creating agents of change on a local and global level. As a professor Tiona hopes to be both a teacher and a mentor to students providing quality education for the next generation of therapists.
