Biography

Risa Williams is a licensed LMFT specializing in anxiety and stress reduction skills, CBT, and mindfulness. She has a private practice and also works at Fig Tree Center in Downtown Los Angeles, treating clients with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. She has been teaching at various colleges and universities in L.A. for the last 10 years, and currently teaches at Woodbury University and Pepperdine University. Williams is also a book author and award-winning writer. Her book, Cinescopes: What Your Favorite Movies Reveal About You, was published by Quirk Books/Random House, and her wellness articles have been featured in Breathe Magazine. Her newest book, an anxiety workbook, will be published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. She has a background in film, theater, and the performing arts, and likes to utilize creativity into her classes and therapy practice.
